Happy New Year! I know I have been a little disconnected lately, but I promise it’s been all for good reasons. I spent some much needed time with my family over Bunbun’s “winter” break. Although there is no such thing as winter here in South Florida.

Tis’ the season for family gatherings, parties and of course, drinks! We had a great Thanksgiving this year. The food was great and the company was even better!! I am so thankful for my family, friends and of course all of you.
Every year, as we get closer to Christmas, we get together with a few of our friends for a Christmas party. Sometimes we do a cookie exchange, secret santa and a pot luck. The latter, usually brings some great treats and a few surprises. It’s being with family and friends that truly make Christmas so joyous.

Salted Caramel Pumpkin Pie Crescents
Thanksgiving has always meant so much to me. I have fond memories of our family being together around the table and sharing memories. I could listen to them laugh for days. It’s just pure happiness! I miss those days. They would be hectic, but we were together and that was the best feeling for me growing up.
Things have changed over the years. Everyone kind of does their own thing now and smaller groups of us get together to share the holiday. With everyone being in different cities and states, it definitely puts a strain on our big family gatherings.

Trick or Treat: How to make your own BOO Kit and #BOOItForward

When we purchased our first home back in 2012 the tradition of BOO’ing had just begun in the neighborhood. To join in the spooky spirit of giving, we made a BOO kit full of candy and goodies to bring to our neighbor’s house. We left it at the doorstep along with a card explaining what it meant to be Boo’d and an extra to encourage them to continue the cycle of “boo’ing.” They were then left guessing who left the tub of treats and something good to eat. While our identity remained a secret, it was up to them to pay it forward and create their own BOO kit for for an unsuspecting neighbor or friend.

Pumpkin Spice Whoopie Pies
Mistakes. We’re all human and make them, but sometimes, they really get the best of you and beat you down. Yesterday was one of those days for me. I just couldn’t get anything right! I’ve been working on a craft for the Blog and I attempted to dye something. I hung it out to dry and when I went to check on it an hour or so later, it was completely white again. The color just didn’t take so, I will have to try again another day.
Then, I decided to make my Pumpkin Spice Whoopie Pies. I grabbed my Wilton Harvest Whoopie Pie Pan and couldn’t wait to get started! The first batch rose too high, so I had to start all over. I tweaked some of the ingredients and all was well. I then began my cream cheese buttercream and it was too soft. I had just about had it! I was so frustrated with everything going wrong, that I decided to take a break and re-group. I really needed that, because when I tried the second time, I nailed it!
So, the moral of this story, is never give up. Sometimes, we just have bad moments or days and that’s totally okay. Take a break, brush it off and try again! Always.

M&M Candy Corn Cookies
I officially declare Fall! This morning, on my way home from an appointment, I decided to stop at Dunkin Donuts to pick up some munchkins for my little guy. While in line, I spotted pumpkin munchkins!!! Yes, pumpkin!!! So, in my mind, if they are selling pumpkin everything before September 1st, it’s fall ya’ll!
Cookies & Cream Donuts
I can’t get enough of Oreos!!! They are definitely one of my weaknesses when it comes to sweets and I don’t have the willpower to say no to all of their deliciousness. Last month, I posted a recipe for Cookies & Cream Cupcakes which received quite a response. So, I am back this month with a new recipe for you to enjoy.

Chocolate Chip Cookie S’mores
Happy National S’mores Day! I’ll be honest, I had no idea that the snack had an entire day dedicated to it but I’m not complaining because it’s one of my favorite parts of camping! My family and I all love going camping and we always try to go on a camping trip at least once every 2 months because it’s a briliant way to bring the family together. While we do look on campingfunzone.com to find the best gear we should take with us, we also make sure we pack enough s’more ingredients to last us the trip because it’s not camping if there isn’t s’mores! But the American camping tradition definitely goes beyond tents and sleeping bags. Everyone loves a good S’more in the winter, but who says you can’t indulge year round?
I’ll be posting two yummy recipes for you today and maybe even something a little special to go along with it…
Easy Monkey Bread
A few days ago, I woke up and decided I was going to cook and bake all day. I’m not sure what lit the fire under me, but it turned out to be an extremely productive day. Aside from my Blueberry Cobbler, this super Easy Monkey Bread was in the oven.
This Monkey Bread smells and tastes just as good as it looks. Lots of sweet, ooey gooey goodness and love went into this one. It is made with Pillsbury biscuits, chopped walnuts, raisins and has the perfect cinnamon to sugar ratio. I could honestly eat the whole thing in one sitting if I knew I wouldn’t suffer the consequences on the bathroom scale the following morning.

Blueberry Cobbler
Blueberries are quite popular in our home. The kids, especially my little guy, love to put them in their cereal and sometimes, he will request them alone for a snack. It’s the cutest thing! Then again, I think everything he does is cute. Probably because I’m his Mom.
We enjoy shopping at local farmers markets. The atmosphere is so lovely and it seems to encourage my littles to eat healthier. The kids love picking their own fruits and veggies which probably works in my favor as well, because if they picked it, most likely…they’ll eat it! Whenever there is a sale on Blueberries, we tend to stock up. However, after our last trip, I think I may have bought too many blueberries.
