As if you’re not already salivating from my previous Chocolate Chip Cookie S’mores post, I am back with more! I couldn’t stop at just one and I got totally into the s’mores last night. Literally!
Did you know that the first s’more recipe was published in the Girl Scouts Handbook in 1927? This now popular snack was called “some mores” way back when. And clearly, it’s fitting because you always want more!
I’ve decided to put a twist on popcorn for this years National S’mores Day. Sure, everyone loves popcorn with their movie, but what can be better than s’more popcorn?
This snack is everything s’mores and all you need is a good movie
…and some napkins!
*Look for the BONUS s’more recipe at the bottom of this post.
Ingredients
- 1 bag microwavable popcorn (plain, no butter)
- 9 honey graham crackers, broken into small pieces
- 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup mini marshmallows
Directions
- Pop popcorn as directed on bag.
- Line a baking tray with wax paper or foil.
- Spread popped popcorn across pan.
- In a medium, microwave-safe bowl; melt chocolate in 60 second increments, stirring well until melted.
- Using a spoon or fork, drizzle chocolate across the popcorn.
- Sprinkle marshmallows and broken graham crackers across. The chocolate drizzle will help the bits stick together.
- Drizzle chocolate again and continue to layer until desired fullness.
- Enjoy!
*Add a small amount of vegetable oil to melted chocolate and stir well, to reach your desired consistency for the drizzle.
